• Support internal management reporting and cross-functional cost-saving initiatives.

The Lilly Kinsale manufacturing operation is located in Dunderrow, close to the historic and scenic town of Kinsale, Co Cork. The mission of the Kinsale facility is to support the commercialisation, manufacture and supply of many of the newest medicines in Lilly’s portfolio. Production of medicines commenced in Kinsale in 1981 and today the manufacturing campus in Kinsale employs around 1,200 people and uses chemical and peptide synthesis, and biotechnology manufacturing processes to make active ingredients for medicines across all therapeutic areas referenced above. The site also works in close partnership with the Lilly global research and development function in the areas of process development and optimisation across all three manufacturing platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• General Accounting & Financial Planning & Reporting Work with accountants across Kinsale legal entities to ensure required monthly supporting documentation is uploaded onto shared server for access by our Shared Services centres. Assist in the preparation of lower-risk Journal Vouchers, under the supervision of accountants. Assist with the preparation of monthly General Ledger account reconciliations Act as backup for financial assistant /other finance team members during holiday periods etc.
• Compliance - Internal Control & Audit Work with accountants/business area financial leads to ensure completion of control procedures in line with Sarbanes-Oxley and other internal control requirements. Assist in the preparation of monthly compliance reports including follow up with the business as necessary. Assist in the completion of internal control questionnaires/other control health-checks across all finance areas.
• External Reporting Assist in the preparation of reports for external business partners. Assist in the preparation of documentation files (invoices/payment etc) in support of IDA grant claim submissions as needed.
• Internal Reporting Prepare monthly reports to support internal management reporting for various projects/ workflows. Participate in cross-functional cost saving initiative team on the site – assist with development of quarterly themes/focus areas to increase visibility of /participation in the program by all teams. Assist the accountants in preparing/providing documentation required by EY external audit team for annual audit processes across Kinsale legal entities.
• Innovation Support the Kinsale Finance Team's innovation agenda through idea generation and project work, using Artificial Intelligence, Power Query, Dynamic Array functions, Power BIs and other internal programs.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in third level education and ready to pursue student placement as part of an undergraduate programme. Interest in pursuing a professional Tax or Accounting qualification post third level. Strong technical/analytical skills (including Microsoft Excel). Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.
