Eli Lilly Kinsale Internship 2027 Intern – Tax Positions:

Start date: January 2027

Duration: 8 months

Salary: €30,500

Location: Lilly Dunderrow Kinsale

Type: 4 days onsite 1 day work from home

Course Eligibility: BSc in Finance, Commerce, Business, or Accounting. MSc Accounting or Tax

The Lilly Kinsale manufacturing operation is located in Dunderrow, close to the historic and scenic town of Kinsale, Co Cork. The mission of the Kinsale facility is to support the commercialisation, manufacture and supply of many of the newest medicines in Lilly’s portfolio. Production of medicines commenced in Kinsale in 1981 and today the manufacturing campus in Kinsale employs around 1,200 people and uses chemical and peptide synthesis, and biotechnology manufacturing processes to make active ingredients for medicines across all therapeutic areas referenced above. The site also works in close partnership with the Lilly global research and development function in the areas of process development and optimisation across all three manufacturing platforms.

Job Description:

The Tax Team in Kinsale is responsible for tax compliance and reporting across all Lilly entities in Ireland. This role will work with other members of the Kinsale Tax Team and Global Tax Team to prepare and complete reports and returns.

Responsibilities:
  • Data gathering and analysis for tax reporting, tax compliance, tax accounting, tax forecasting and tax return preparation.
  • Assist with VAT, Intrastat and EC Sales List reporting with exposure to tax rules across European jurisdictions.
  • Support the Tax Team with routine process reviews.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives, contributing fresh ideas to enhance efficiency within the Tax Team.
  • Learn and apply AI tools to existing processes where appropriate.
  • Support global tax compliance initiatives such as transfer pricing documentation.
  • Capture and summarize profitability data points to support analytics for broader use within the Global Tax Team.
Requirements:
  • Currently enrolled in third level education and ready to pursue student placement as part of an undergraduate/masters programme.
  • Interest in pursuing a professional tax or accounting qualification post third level.
  • Strong technical/analytical skills (including Microsoft Excel).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
