Job summary

IT Works Health LTD in Ireland invites an experienced HL7 Integration Specialist to design and deliver robust healthcare data interfaces across MEDITECH Expanse environments. You will bridge clinical users and IT teams, shaping integration strategy and leading hands-on delivery.

Key responsibilities include designing, building, testing and supporting HL7 v2, FHIR and API-based interfaces across EHR, ERP, cloud and third-party systems; mentoring peers and driving interoperability standards.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with HL7 (v2, FHIR, CDA), APIs, and healthcare data exchange.
• Hands-on experience with integration engines such as InterSystems, Rhapsody, Cloverleaf, Mirth, BizTalk, Corepoint, Qvera, IBM Integration Bus.
• Solid understanding of integration design, testing, and deployment practices.
• Ability to mentor and support junior team members.
• Quick problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and support HL7, FHIR, API, and file-based integrations across EHR, ERP, cloud, and third-party systems.
• Act as a trusted advisor on integration strategy, architecture, and interoperability standards.
• Lead and support MEDITECH Expanse implementations, including interfaces, upgrades, and post go-live optimization.
• Translate complex business and clinical requirements into clear technical solutions.
• Take ownership of complex integration issues, acting as the key escalation point.
• Develop and maintain standards, processes, and documentation to support scalable delivery.
• Operate as a player-coach, balancing hands-on delivery with mentoring and supporting team members.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across clinical, operational, and technical teams to drive innovation and improvement.
