Job summary

The Rehab Group in Ireland invites applications for a Vocational Training Instructor on a fixed-term 12-month contract, working full-time (36 hours per week) at NLN Tullmore, Tullamore, Co. Offaly.

The role requires training learners for QQI Level certification and guiding their career decisions with practical support. Candidates should hold a third-level qualification in Education/Training or Social Sciences, plus a QQI Level 6 Train the Trainer qualification and hands-on experience with QQI

Qualifications

  • Third level qualification in Education/Training or Social Sciences.
  • QQI Level 6 Train the Trainer or higher.
  • Experience with Learners in education, guidance or development contexts.
  • Experience with QQI certification and accreditation processes.
  • Excellent facilitation, presentation, interpersonal and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide systematic training according to curricula and instructors for QQI Level certification.
  • Help learners develop knowledge, skills and confidence for progression.
  • Meet KPIs for learner placement, progression and certification targets.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to maintain programme allocations.
  • Assist learners in reviewing experiences and exploring future goals.
  • Develop Individual Action Plans to support progression and assess needs.
  • Source and support work placements and model proper work attitudes.

Vocational Training Instructor

Fixed term contract - 12 months, Full-time /36 hours per week.

Job Purpose

The Vocational Training Instructor is responsible for the training and development of Learners in accordance with the agreed local training programme specifications, together with the day-to-day running and maintenance of all aspects of the training programmes. The Instructor assists Learners with additional support needs in exploring their future career and educational direction and in making realistic vocational choices with a view to progressing to further education/employment.

What We’re Looking For
  • Third level qualification, preferably within the Education/Training or Social Sciences sector.
  • A relevant pedagogical/training qualification - Train the Trainer QQI Level 6 as a minimum.
  • A number of years relevant occupational experience of working with Learners in educational, guidance and/or developmental contexts.
  • Experience in QQI certification and accreditation processes.
  • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills together with excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
Your Responsibilities
  • Provide systematic training according to specified curricula, with responsibility for the instruction of a number of modules for QQI Level certification.
  • Facilitate participants in developing the knowledge, skills and confidence necessary to secure progression outcomes.
  • Meet key performance indicators in relation to learner placement and progression and achievement of certification targets.
  • As part of a team liaise appropriately with relevant key stakeholders in maintaining programme allocations.
  • Assist Learners in reviewing previous experiences and exploring future goals, using a range of occupational interest, educational and problem solving techniques.
  • Collaborate on the development of Individual Action Plans to support each Learner’s progression, Evaluate the vocational rehabilitation needs of each Learner and produce a profile of those needs.
  • Source and support work experience placements and instil by example and direct training, proper work attitudes and work behaviours.
Closing Date: 23rd September 2026

Salary starting from point 1 €35,740.34 to point 5 €43,319.87. The 14-point salary scale provides annual progression opportunities up to €60,373.79.
