Job summary

The Rehab Group is inviting applications for an RT Instructor (fixed term, 12 months) to deliver the rehabilitative training programme in Cork. The role requires experience with ABA, relevant pedagogical qualifications, and delivering QQI modules within a multidisciplinary team.

You will work 22.5 hours per week at Cork Business & Technology Park, Model Farm Road, Cork, with a pro rata salary ranging from €35,740.34 to €43,319.87 and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience and qualifications in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) essential.
• Third level education in Youth and Community Work, Teaching or Adult Education.
• Pedagogical/training qualification e.g. Train the Trainer.
• Experience delivering QQI accredited modules.
• Experience with young people with additional support needs including intellectual disabilities, ASD, physical and sensory needs and/or mental health difficulties.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver the RT programme in a person-centred training environment.
• Provide systematic training according to curricula; maintain learner progress records and quality standards.
• Carry out one-to-one key working; support learner in person-centred plans and choices.
• Use diverse methodologies (Assistive Technologies, Art, Craft, Drama, Music) to support learners.
• Support learners in classroom and community settings in line with New Directions ethos.
• Develop curricula and rehabilitation interventions with the multidisciplinary team.

Job Purpose

The Rehabilitative Training Programme aims to equip the learner with skills to develop personally, socially and vocationally in making future choices and progress to greater levels of independence and integration. The Instructor will work within a multidisciplinary team which requires experience of working with people with a variety of support needs and will work in the ASD programme, using the science of applied behaviour analysis (ABA) to support and teach students.

What we're looking for:

• Third Level Education and Training to 3rd level standard - Youth and Community Work, Teaching or Adult Education.
• A relevant pedagogical/training qualification e.g. Train the Trainer.
• Experience and qualifications in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) is essential.
• Experience of working in a specialised training environment.
• Experience of working with young people with additional support needs including intellectual disabilities, ASD, physical and sensory needs and/or mental health difficulties.
• Experience in developing and delivering QQI accredited modules.

Your Responsibilities

• To undertake the development and delivery of the RT programme with competence and carry out duties with innovation, flair, imagination in a person-centred training environment.
• Provide systematic training according to specified curricula; maintain all records required for effective monitoring of the learners' progress; maintaining records of all training in accordance with both internal and external quality standards and producing reports on same, as required.
• Carry out one-to-one key working; assist the learner in developing his/her person-centred plans, thus supporting the process regarding his/her own personal choices, according to the New Directions ethos and the Training Programme Specification.
• Use a variety of methodologies to support achievement of the learners' goals, for example using Assistive Technologies, Art, Craft, Drama, Music etc.
• To support and assist learners both in the classroom and within their communities as per the New Directions ethos.
• To develop curricula and innovative rehabilitation interventions in co-operation with the multidisciplinary team including the rehabilitation officer, rehabilitation psychologist, programme development officer and the Manager.

Closing Date: 5th November 2026

Salary starting from point 1 € 35,740.34 to point 5 € 43,319.87 pro rata. The 14-point salary scale provides annual progression opportunities up to € 60,373.79 pro rata.
