Job summary

UPMC Ireland is seeking a Staff Nurse for the Sports Surgery Clinic in Ireland. The role focuses on providing patient-centred care across pre-operative and post-operative settings, with coordination of nursing services and adherence to clinic policies.

The successful candidate will promote high standards of care, participate in accreditation/quality improvement, and communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and the multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Be a Registered Nurse and eligible to register with An Bord Altranais on the General Division.
• Orthopaedic course is desirable but not essential.
• Be computer literate with good interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Ability to work on own initiative, prioritise and manage multiple issues with attention to detail.
• Be free from defects or disease that would impede nursing duties and maintain good character.

Responsibilities

• To participate in the delivery of care within the Clinic.
• To liaise with nursing staff to ensure adequate provision of cover when required.
• To ensure that standards of patient care are consistently maintained at all times in accordance with agreed operational policies as a skilled member of the Inpatient Ward nursing team.
• To promote and safeguard the well being and interests of all patients, employees and visitors.
• Maintain throughout the Clinic an awareness of the primacy of the patient in relation to all clinic activities.
• Demonstrate initiative and be receptive to new ideas and development.
• Assess patient care needs and communicate with relatives and visitors as required.
• Set standards of Nursing Practice and liaise with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure patient-focused care.
