Job summary

UPMC Ireland is seeking a Staff Nurse at the Sports Surgery Clinic in Ireland. The role focuses on patient-centred care, coordinating nursing services and administering the unit to a high standard in pre- and post-operative settings.

The successful candidate must be a Registered Nurse with An Bord Altranais registration, ideally with orthopaedic exposure, and possess strong communication and organisational skills. This permanent role offers a 37.5-hour week with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Be a Registered Nurse eligible to register with An Bord Altranais on the General Division.
• Orthopaedic course is desirable but not essential.
• Computer literate and able to work on own initiative.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and proven written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to prioritise, manage multiple issues simultaneously and pay attention to detail.
• Be of good character and in reasonable health to render regular service.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the delivery of care within the Clinic.
• Liaise with nursing staff to ensure adequate provision of cover.
• Maintain high standards of patient care in the inpatient ward.
• Promote well-being of patients, employees and visitors.
• Set and monitor standards and contribute to Continuous Quality Improvement.
• Document and record nursing care in pre- and post-operative periods.
• Ensure patient confidentiality and best practice.
