Job summary

Cpl Group is seeking a Windows Server infrastructure architect for an urgent long‑term daily rate contract in the Dublin area. The role is hybrid with three days on-site at the Dublin office and significant responsibility for architecture review, design, implementation and security hardening of Windows Server environments.

You will advise on AD/Azure AD, GPO, DNS/DHCP, clustering, and modern automation. Deep expertise across tools like Ivanti, Tanium, Centreon, Splunk, VMware and O365 is

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience with Windows Server OS and core services.
• Expert level PowerShell and automation scripting capabilities.
• Strong knowledge of AD/Azure AD, GPO, DNS, DHCP, DFS and clustering.
• Experience with patching, security hardening and monitoring.
• Proven ability to design, implement and manage enterprise Windows Server environments.

Responsibilities

• Architect, review, design, implement and manage Windows Server security hardening.
• Automation of deployment, provisioning and de-provisioning of servers.
• Manage monitoring and BAU efforts, improve reliability and security.
• Liaise with IT teams and vendors on HA, backup, and implementations.
• Provide SME level Windows Server support and administration (AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO, etc).
• Participate in O365 tenant management, identity security and reporting.

Job description

Windows Server infrastructure architect, urgent long term daily rate contracting role. Hybrid Dublin office on site 3 days.

Enterprise level skillset, to assist with the architecture review, design, implementation and management of Windows Server OS security hardening.Including but not limited to group policies,DSC configurations, LAPS. Provide SME level Windows Server support and administration (AD, File Services, DFS, GPO, DNS, DHCP, Windows Clustering, Certificate authorities, etc)

• - Windows Server OS build configuration definition, build certification, build deployment automation
• - Lifecycle management of Windows Servers i.e. provisioning, de-provisioning, enforcement of configuration management (virtual and physical server infrastructure)
• - Assist with the design, implementation and management of automation activities within the Windows Server perimeter:
  • o Windows Server deployment / deprovisioning automation
  • o Identity management automation
  • o Reporting
• - Review, recommend and implement enhancements that will reduce BAU effort, improve performance, reliability and security within the Windows Server perimeter, including but not limited to:
  • o Windows Server patch management
  • o Windows Server AntiVirus protection system
  • o Vulnerability management
  • o Compliance reporting
  • o Automation of common BAU activities
  • o Enhance the automation and reporting quality of daily checks
• - Assist with O365 tenant management, identity security, reporting, licensing and BAU automation
• - Assist with an architectural review of the monitoring implementation within the Windows Server & VMWare perimeter.Review, propose and implement changes to improve the monitoring capabilities
• - Liaise with IT teams, business teams and vendors with regards to Windows Server system implementation, high availability, back-up, monitoring
• - Perform Windows Server infrastructure morning checks where required
• - Hardware: HP, DELL, EMC, Isilon
• - Software: Quest ARS, Microsoft, Centreon, Ivanti, Tanium, Splunk, VMWare, Sentinel One, Cyberak, Rapid7, O365, Jira
• - Expert level understanding of Microsoft Windows Server OS versions:
  • o 2022
  • o 2019 (Core & GUI)
  • o 2016
  • o 2012 R2
• - Expert level understanding of Windows Server core infrastructure services:
  • o Active Directory / Azure AD
  • o Group Policies
  • o DFS / DFSR
  • o Certificate Authorities
  • o DCHP & DNS
  • o Windows Server clustering / high availability solution
• - High level of experience managing physical server infrastructure
• - Expert level powerShell / automation scripting experience
• - High level of experience with patch / configuration management solutions ( i.e. Ivanti, Tanium, SCCM, DSC)

Require 15+ years experience as a Windows Server Engineer / Architect.

Experience with the following desirable

Quest ARS, QuickConnect, Cyberark, VMWare, Ansible
