Job summary

QCS Staffing is seeking an Information & Technology Design Engineer for an Ireland-based remote role on a permanent contract. The successful candidate will engage in RFP processes, review and refine design drawings and specs, and collaborate with commercial and operations teams to ensure timely project delivery.

The ideal applicant has an electrical trade background or equivalent, with a strong design track record or degree qualification.

Qualifications

• Electrical background and capability to interpret design specifications.
• Formal engineering degree with design experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage RFPs from clients and coordinate responses.
• Review drawings, specs, timelines and identify design gaps.
• Raise RFIs and conduct gap analysis with the design team.
• Assess subcontractor bids with commercial, design and operations teams.
• Support infrastructure work including structured cabling and related systems.

Our client delivers cutting‑edge projects for data centres worldwide. This is your chance to work with an innovative, market‑leading company as their newest Information & Technology Design Engineer.

What You’ll Do

• Will be responsible for RFP (Req for Purchase) from a client
• Review drawings / specs/ timelines/ review gaps in design / review cost value engineering
• Raise RFI (Req for Information) which may be raised from a contractor with queries on eg design, materials, alternatives etc – Answer these RFI, Review “Gap Analysis” as a team
• Review subcontractor bids: 1) review cost with commercial team 2) review design with design and operational teams
• This discipline will largely be working with structured cabling, fire wall, mobile phone towers, radio controls etc
