Job summary

CLS Recruitment Group represents a client seeking a maintenance professional to join the team in North Galway / South Mayo. This full-time role covers 4 shifts Mon-Fri plus a Saturday shift, with periodic plant shutdowns twice yearly requiring availability.

You will perform mechanical fixes on machinery, preventative maintenance, and repairs using welding and machining equipment, while prioritising safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum Mechanical Automation and Maintenance Fitting Level 6 (or similar) required.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience within similar Industry.
• Take pride and ownership of maintenance work to ensure continuous smooth running and minimal downtime.
• Qualified Fitter/Turner with ability to repair inhouse during breakdowns using workshop equipment.
• Proficient in Stick, MIG and TIG Welding.
• Proficient in Oxy Acetylene Cutting Gear.
• General knowledge of Electrical and Plumbing trades is advantageous.
• Knowledge of large industrial processing machinery is essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical fixes on machinery such as bearing, sprocket, chain and drive component replacement.
• Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems and diagnose issues quickly to repair or work around as required.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on Plant & Equipment to ensure smooth running.
• Carry out machine maintenance, replacement, refurbishment and repairs during shut down periods.
• Check control panels and electrical wiring and report issues.
• Install appliances and equipment and check safety systems.
