  • Reporting and analytics: Use Excel, Google Sheets, and other relevant tools to develop reconciliation reports, analysis, reporting packs, and financial controls.
  • Automation and standardization: Identify opportunities to simplify and automate recurring tasks, and create practical templates, dashboards, checklists, and process documentation to reduce manual errors.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with fundraising and finance teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure that records across different platforms and systems remain consistent.
Requirements

  • International accounting exposure: Familiarity with different GAAP frameworks or statutory environments is an advantage, particularly those relating to Hong Kong, Mainland China, Vietnam, the United Kingdom, the United States, or Australia.
  • Reconciliation and analytical skills: Strong attention to detail and the ability to investigate discrepancies, manage complex reconciliations, and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Spreadsheet expertise: Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, including complex reconciliations, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Accounting systems: Familiarity with Sun Accounting or comparable ERP and accounting platforms, such as NetSuite.
  • Reporting and data tools: Experience with Tableau, Power BI, Power Query, or similar data analysis and reporting tools is an advantage.
  • Process improvement mindset: Ability to identify inefficiencies, develop standardized workflows, and improve controls and reporting procedures.
  • Communication and collaboration: Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively across finance and fundraising teams.
  • Working style: A proactive, reliable, and methodical approach, with the ability to work independently and maintain accuracy in a lean organizational environment.
