TechHeads is delighted to be partnering with one of our clients who are recruiting for a ICT Microsoft & Cyber Security Engineer to join their ICT team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Microsoft Infrastructure or Azure Engineer with strong cybersecurity expertise who enjoys working across cloud, infrastructure, security and complex technical support.
In this role, you'll be responsible for managing and securing Microsoft environments across Azure, Entra ID, Intune, Defender and Sentinel, while providing high-level technical support and helping to maintain a secure and reliable ICT environment. You will work closely with wider ICT teams on complex incidents, projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing and configuring Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), including MFA, Conditional Access, PIM and RBAC.
- Deploying and managing Microsoft Intune for device compliance, application deployment and endpoint configuration.
- Configuring and managing Microsoft Defender XDR, including Defender for Endpoint and Defender for Office 365.
- Monitoring and responding to security alerts using Microsoft Sentinel and other SIEM tools.
- Applying security best practices across Azure environments, including firewalls, NSGs, encryption and Zero Trust principles.
- Providing third-line technical support for complex infrastructure, Microsoft and security-related incidents.
- Leading security investigations, threat evaluation and incident response activities.
- Working within an ITIL-aligned environment, supporting Incident, Problem and Change Management processes.
- Participating in Change Advisory Board (CAB) and Problem Management meetings.
- Creating and maintaining SOPs, runbooks, knowledge articles and technical documentation.
- Researching current technology and security best practices and recommending improvements to the environment.
Requirements:
- 10+ years' experience within Microsoft infrastructure, systems administration, cloud engineering or senior technical support.
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure and Microsoft Entra ID/Azure AD.
- Strong experience with PIM, RBAC, MFA and Conditional Access.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune.
- Experience with Microsoft Defender XDR, Defender for Endpoint and/or Defender for Office 365.
- Practical experience with Microsoft Sentinel, security alerts and incident response.
- Strong understanding of Azure Security and Zero Trust principles.
- Proven experience providing L3/third-line infrastructure support and troubleshooting complex technical issues.
- Experience working within an ITIL-aligned service environment, including Incident, Problem and Change Management.
- Must hold Microsoft AZ-500 or SC-500 certification.
- Candidate must currently be located in Ireland and hold an EU Passport or Stamp 4 Visa.
