Job summary

IBM Ireland offers a 6- or 9-month placement for students completing a degree, with a hybrid working model. You will work from the Mulhuddart Campus three days a week and have flexibility for remote days aligned with team needs.

The program emphasizes learning, collaboration, and hands-on experience across backend, frontend, DevOps, and quality engineering tracks. You’ll gain mentorship, access to Developer Academy, and exposure to AI, cloud-native solutions, and modern software delivery

Qualifications

• Currently a student completing a placement year as part of a degree.
• Foundational knowledge in algorithms, data structures, software engineering principles, and Generative AI/LLMs.
• Exposure to programming languages and frameworks such as Java, Python, JavaScript, Rust, Go, or similar.
• Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes and cloud concepts.

Responsibilities

• Support backend services and APIs development for hybrid cloud deployments.
• Assist frontend development tasks and usability improvements.
• Participate in DevOps practices, CI/CD and cloud tooling to improve delivery.
• Contribute to testing and quality engineering activities.
