Job summary

E‑Frontiers in Galway is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a global financial services team. You will design and deliver Java enterprise applications and REST services for high-volume systems, with a focus on messaging and Azure cloud technologies.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in Java EE, strong Java/REST/messaging skills, and hands-on experience with Kafka, ActiveMQ, PL/SQL and Azure/K8s CI/CD. The role is hybrid in Galway and offers a 12-month contract.

Qualifications

• 8+ years' experience with Java EE development on high-volume enterprise systems.
• Strong expertise in Java, REST services, enterprise messaging, design patterns and relational databases.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka, ActiveMQ, PL/SQL and complex SQL queries.
• Good understanding of Azure, AKS, CI/CD and DevOps; AWS experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deliver high-quality Java enterprise applications and REST services across the full development lifecycle.
• Contribute to technical and architectural design, ensuring solutions align with engineering standards and best practices.
• Work with enterprise messaging technologies including Kafka and ActiveMQ.
• Develop and optimise complex PL/SQL queries and work with relational databases.
• Support CI/CD, DevOps and cloud initiatives within an Azure AKS environment, while contributing to continuous improvement and automation.
