Job summary

Sentior, Ltd. is seeking a Senior Java Developer for an 11-month contract, remote with Galway office one week per month. The role focuses on delivering high-volume enterprise Java EE applications, REST services and messaging with ActiveMQ/Kafka.

You will lead engineering teams, drive design and implementation across the development lifecycle, and ensure secure, high-quality code in an AKS Azure environment with CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a technology related field (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering).
• 10+ years of Java EE development on high volume enterprise systems.
• Proven expertise developing JAVA middle tier REST services and with Enterprise messaging like ActiveMQ, Kafka.
• Experience with PL/SQL and complex queries.
• Understanding of Relational Databases.
• Proven understanding of Cloud Computing and DevOps concepts like CI/CD pipelines in an AKS Azure environment.
• Demonstrated experience of leading engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Strong sense of ownership for the quality of solution delivery and execution.
• Actively participates in all phases of Development Life Cycle / Agile Project including design, development, and testing.
• Understands Business Objectives in the context of the team’s work.
• Contributes to architecture and technical designs and ensure designs are aligned with architectural standards.
• Communicates project status, identify issues/risks proactively, and escalate effectively.
• Follows standard processes and methodologies for developing high-quality secure code.
• Analysing current processes and propose recommendations for process improvements.
