Job summary

DB Recruitment is seeking a commercially minded Accountant to join a growing technology company in Cork. This role combines core accounting responsibilities with invoice management, contract review, and commercial support.

The successful candidate will work with finance, sales, legal, procurement and senior leadership to ensure financial accuracy, strong governance and efficient business operations. 4 days in Cork office, 1 day remote.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CPA or CIMA).
• 3+ years' accounting experience.
• Experience preparing management accounts.
• Experience reviewing commercial contracts or supplier agreements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Complete month-end and year-end close processes.
• Manage balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger accuracy.
• Prepare VAT, payroll, and statutory returns.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Support annual audits and liaise with external auditors.
• Ensure compliance with Irish accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Review customer and supplier contracts before execution.
• Identify commercial, financial, and contractual risks.
• Ensure pricing, payment terms, milestones, and obligations are commercially appropriate.
