Job summary

Western Union in Dublin, Ireland seeks an Accounting Manager to lead the accounting function as an individual contributor reporting to the local Chief Financial Officer. Hybrid role with a focus on timely financial close, regulatory filings, and process improvements.

The ideal candidate is fully qualified (ACA/CIMA/ACCA/ACMA/CPA) with 5+ years in accounting, strong US GAAP and IFRS knowledge, and experience with external auditors.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant with ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP.
• Experience with regulatory reporting and audits.
• Proven leadership and ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with Oracle and BlackLine is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and direct accounting activities and outsourced providers.
• Prepare standalone financial statements and regulatory filings under IFRS/US GAAP.
• Generate key management reports for senior leadership and audit committees.
• Ensure regulatory compliance for safeguarding funds and capital adequacy.
• Review journal entries and balance sheet accounts; support process improvements.
• Collaborate with business partners to resolve financial reporting issues.
• Coordinate with auditors, tax advisors, and regulators.
