Job summary

AECOM is hiring an ambitious Electrical Engineer with HV project experience to join the Transmission & Distribution team in Ireland. The role supports large-scale grid connections, renewable integration, and data centre links within a hybrid work model.

Based in the Republic of Ireland, you will contribute to design, owners' engineer duties, and technical specifications across Ireland/UK and overseas, with opportunities for career development through AECOM University and practice networks.

Qualifications

Bachelor level or higher degree in electrical engineering with emphasis on HV
Experience on HV projects in utilities or developers needed
Ability to author technical reports and present designs clearly
Experience as designer or project engineer on HV substations or related projects
Knowledge of substation control systems, transformers, GIS/AIS switchgear desirable
Chartered status or active progression toward it preferred
Full driving license and willingness to site-visit when required

Responsibilities

Create primary plant layouts for HV substations
Specify equipment for HV plant and related gear
Provide engineering design input to major infrastructure projects
Act as Owners' Engineer on HV substation/cable and OHL projects
Contribute HV design input to renewables like storage, solar, hydro and wind projects
Provide professional services to clients in Ireland/UK and overseas
