Job summary

Hero Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced HR Manager / Senior HR Business Partner to lead the HR function onsite in Galway. The role reports to global HR and shapes people strategy, culture and organisational effectiveness during a critical growth phase.

Responsibilities include workforce planning, talent management, performance cycles, compensation and employee relations, with 2 direct reports. On-site leadership in a growing manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years' progressive HR experience with HRBP or leadership exposure.
• Manufacturing, medical device or engineering sector experience is advantageous.
• Broad HR generalist skills with strategic and hands-on capability.
• Global/cross-cultural HR experience is a plus, especially Asia or US.
• Good knowledge of Irish employment law and HR compliance.

Our client, a leading medical device manufacturer with a growing presence in Galway, is looking for an experienced HR Manager / Senior HR Business Partner to lead the HR function on-site. This is a hands‑on leadership role, reporting into global HR, with genuine influence over people strategy, culture and organisational effectiveness at a critical time for the business.

The Role

• Act as the lead HR partner to the Site Leadership Team, driving people strategy, workforce planning and organisational effectiveness.
• Own talent management, succession planning and the annual performance cycle.
• Lead compensation and rewards activity, including benchmarking, job evaluations and merit reviews.
• Provide hands‑on employee relations support and guidance across the site.
• Champion culture, engagement and capability‑building as the site continues to grow.
• 2 direct reports.

About You

• 8–10 years' progressive HR experience, including significant HRBP or HR leadership experience.
• A background in manufacturing, medical device or engineering environments is a strong advantage.
• Broad, hands‑on HR generalist skillset with the ability to operate strategically as well as get into the detail.
• Global or cross-cultural HR experience is a plus, particularly exposure to Asia or the US.
• Strong knowledge of Irish employment law and HR compliance.
• Level 8 degree minimum; CIPD and/or Master's preferred.
