Job summary

Flynn, a Dublin-based international construction solutions company, is seeking an HR Business Partner to lead people initiatives in the assigned region. You will work with managers to drive engagement, performance and organisational effectiveness across Ireland, the UK, Germany and Denmark.

This hands-on, office-based role requires strong relationship skills, sound judgement and the ability to manage recruitment, onboarding, employee relations and HR data using BambooHR.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Generalist HR experience.
  • Experience supporting managers across employee relations issues.
  • Experience recruiting and onboarding activities.
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices.
  • Experience in fast-paced, multi-site environments.

REPORTING TO: Head of HR

Purpose of Role

The HR Business Partner acts as the primary HR lead for their assigned region, providing practical, commercially focused people support to managers and employees throughout the employee lifecycle.

This is a hands-on role requiring strong relationship-building skills, sound HR judgement and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, project-driven environment. The HR Business Partner will work collaboratively with the HR team to support business growth, employee engagement and organisational effectiveness. This is an office-based role and would suit someone looking to step up into a HRBP role.

Role Responsibilities
HR Business Partnering
  • Act as the first point of contact for managers and employees on all people-related matters within the assigned region.
  • Build effective working relationships with managers to support operational and strategic business objectives.
  • Provide practical HR guidance on employee relations, performance management, absence management, conduct and capability matters.
  • Support managers in building high-performing and engaged teams.
  • Assist with workforce planning and organisational change initiatives.
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
  • Partner with hiring managers to identify recruitment requirements and workforce plans.
  • Support the development and review of job descriptions and role profiles.
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment processes.
Onboarding & Employee Experience
  • Coordinate the onboarding process for new employees within the assigned region.
  • Ensure all employee records and documentation are maintained accurately.
  • Deliver HR inductions and support new hires through probation and integration periods.
  • Partner with managers to ensure a positive employee experience from day one.
Employee Relations
  • Provide advice and support on disciplinary, grievance, absence, performance and conduct matters.
  • Ensure consistency, fairness and compliance in the application of company policies and procedures.
  • Escalate complex or high-risk matters to the Head of HR where appropriate.
Performance & Talent Management
  • Support managers in driving performance and accountability across their teams.
  • Assist with performance reviews, development discussions and talent planning activities.
  • Identify capability gaps and succession planning opportunities.
  • Work closely with the HR team to ensure regional learning and development needs are identified and addressed.
Employee Lifecycle Management
  • Manage employee movements, changes and offboarding processes.
  • Conduct exit meetings and analyse trends to support employee retention initiatives.
  • Support managers through organisational change and restructuring activities.
  • Ensure employee records within HR systems are accurate and up to date.
HR Systems, Reporting & Compliance
  • Maintain accurate employee data and documentation within BambooHR and associated systems.
  • Produce and analyse regional HR metrics and management information.
  • Monitor compliance with employment legislation and company policies.
  • Support audits and reporting requirements.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR processes and systems.
The Candidate
Essential Experience
  • 3+ years' experience in a Generalist HR role.
  • Experience supporting managers across a broad range of employee relations issues.
  • Demonstrated experience managing recruitment and onboarding activities.
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
Desirable Experience
  • Experience within construction, engineering, manufacturing or project-based industries.
  • Experience supporting international workforces.
  • Experience using BambooHR or equivalent HR systems.
  • Exposure to multiple jurisdictions including Ireland, UK or European markets.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline.
  • CIPD qualification or equivalent professional HR accreditation preferred.
