Job summary

Mulranny Park Hotel, a Windward Management property, invites applications for a HR Officer role. The successful candidate will manage HR functions, drive recruitment strategy, and ensure payroll accuracy while maintaining up-to-date HR policies and compliance across the hotel and spa.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience in recruitment and employee relations.
  • HR systems experience is essential; Timepoint (Time & Attendance) experience is desirable.
  • Familiarity with health & safety systems and training portals.
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Reflect and enhance the core values of Mulranny Park Hotel.
  • Assist in managing the Human Resource function in line with procedures and with the Cluster HR Manager.
  • Develop the image of Mulranny Park Hotel & Spa as a good employer.
  • Plan recruitment needs and recruit to meet those needs.
  • Develop a recruitment strategy for peak periods.
  • Liaise with schools, colleges and government bodies to promote the hotel and ensure a supply of employees.
  • Support the hotel employees communication strategy.
  • Assist the General Manager in compiling the weekly payroll.
  • Familiarise with HR activities and ensure hotel stays compliant with policies.
  • Oversee contracts, terms and conditions, job descriptions, handbook, and onboarding documents.
  • Process new starters and leavers on payroll.
  • Monitor breaks and attendance; take corrective action.
  • Monitor turnover levels and manage absenteeism with Occupational Health.
  • Organise and coordinate all training; conduct statutory and development training.
  • Ensure induction and statutory training for new employees.
  • Order uniforms and replenish stock; maintain uniform standards.
  • Ensure Health & Safety compliance; monitor incidents.
  • Plan departmental training and monitor effectiveness; conduct internal training.
  • Coordinate staff social events.
  • Maintain SOP manuals and HR documentation per GDPR.
  • Report and analyze key HR metrics; participate in hotel meetings.

To assist in the management of the Human Resource function effectively and in line with Mulranny Park Hotel Human Resources policies and procedures.

Role And Responsibilities

  • To assist in managing the Human Resource function in line with the agreed procedures and in conjunction with the Cluster HR Manager develop these procedures where appropriate
  • To develop the image of Mulranny Park Hotel & Spa as a good employer
  • To plan recruitment needs for the business in advance and to recruit to meet those needs
  • To assist in plan and develop a strategy for recruitment
  • To develop a recruitment strategy for peak periods
  • To liaise with schools, colleges, educational and government bodies in order to promote the image of the hotels and the hotel industry and to ensure a supply of employees from these sources
  • To support the hotel employees communication strategy
  • To assist the General Manager in compiling the weekly payroll.
  • To be familiar with Human Resource activities in the industry and to ensure the hotel is always up to date in its policies and procedures
  • To be familiar with all existing and forthcoming employment legislation and to ensure that the hotels are operating within this legislation
  • To manage the administration of employee files and to ensure that an efficient administration and filing system is in operation
  • To process new starters, leavers and amendments on weekly and monthly payroll
  • To liaise with payroll on payroll queries
  • To ensure weekly payroll is processed in a accurate and timely manner
  • To oversee/review the issuing all contracts, terms and conditions, job descriptions, handbook and all new starter documentation to employees and ensure that signed copies are kept on file
  • To complete forms and letters for employees including social welfare forms, mortgage, loan applications etc
  • To monitor breaks and time attendance and ensure Managers take corrective action
  • Ensure that work permission documentation is up to date and on file
  • To assist in managing the appraisal System within the hotel, ensuring the agreed procedure is adhered to
  • To manage the Grievance and Disciplinary procedures, according to the agreed standard
  • To conduct investigation, disciplinary meetings and grievance meetings
  • To provide professional advice on grievance, disciplinary, harassment, performance management and terms and conditions of employment
  • To assist the Cluster HR Manager with investigation, disciplinary and grievance issues across the group
  • Ensure that all employee queries are dealt with in an efficient manner
  • To monitor turnover levels and take corrective action
  • To manage employee absenteeism and attendance at Occupational Health in conjunction with the Cluster HR Manager compile, update and distribute all company policies and procedures in line with current best practice and employment law
  • To organise and co-ordinate all training
  • To conduct training both statutory and development training
  • To ensure all new employees receive a comprehensive induction and all relevant statutory training
  • To order uniforms/badges/safety shoes and to replenish stock as required
  • To ensure the agreed uniform standards are achieved throughout the hotel
  • To ensure the hotel is fully compliant under Health and Safety Legislation
  • To plan the training needs of the business in liaison with the management team and HR Manager and to co-ordinate the execution of this plan
  • To ensure that appropriate plans are in place for training at a departmental level and to monitor the effectiveness of this training
  • To carry out internal training
  • Organisation of staff social events
  • To ensure that SOP Manuals are up to date and in use within each department
  • To assist with the monitoring of incidents, accidents within the hotel
  • To ensure all holidays, Public Holiday and lieu time entitlements are calculated correctly and to monitor such entitlements
  • To ensure all Human Resources/recruitment documentation/information is held and handled in accordance with the company’s GDPR policy and procedures
  • To report and analysis key HR metrics to the HR Manager
  • To complete projects as instructed by the HR Manager
  • To attend and contribute to the Hotel Meetings
  • To carry out any other reasonable request by the General Manager
  • To carry out any other reasonable request by the Cluster HR Manager
