Job summary

Musgrave is seeking an HR Officer to join on a 12-month fixed-term contract supporting a fast-paced supply chain operation across Munster sites. You’ll provide comprehensive HR services to enable performance, engagement, and operational excellence.

The role partners with HR Business Partners and operational leaders, handling recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, payroll support, GDPR compliance and data integrity. A collaborative, continuous-improvement mindset is essential.

Qualifications

  • Degree or professional qualification in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline.
  • CIPD qualification (or working towards) and strong HR knowledge.
  • Experience in HR activities within supply chain/operational environments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide end-to-end HR administration support, including recruitment, onboarding, induction, probation management, payroll administration, HR reporting and data management.
  • Partner with managers to support workforce planning, engagement, performance, attendance and day-to-day HR matters in a busy supply chain.
  • Coordinate with external agencies on recruitment and support investigations, meetings and minutes.
  • Maintain GDPR-compliant employee records and HR documentation with accuracy.

We have an exciting opportunity for an HR Officer to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role plays a key part in supporting our fast-paced Supply Chain operation across our Munster sites, partnering closely with the HR Business Partners and operational leaders to provide a comprehensive HR service that enables business performance, colleague engagement, and operational excellence.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Provide end-to-end HR administration support, including recruitment, onboarding, induction, probation management, employee lifecycle changes, offboarding, retirement processes, payroll administration, HR reporting, and people data management.
  • Partner with operational managers to support workforce planning, employee engagement, performance management, attendance management, and day-to-day people matters within a busy supply chain environment.
  • Work closely with external agencies on recruitment activity and requirements.
  • Co-ordinate and participate in Company Branding initiatives and Community Programmes.
  • Support and assist managers in employee relation matters including investigations, disciplinary meetings and hearings. This will involve activities such as attending meetings, taking minutes and drafting letters.
  • Provide advice on all HR policies to Managers and colleagues to promote consistent and fair application.
  • Support the HRBP in the delivery of the engagement framework to create high performing teams, continuous improvement, development, and a high performing culture across the network.
  • Be a resource to individual employees as appropriate: provide advice and support as required, facilitate problem solving and be a point of contact.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with managers and colleagues.
  • Ensure employee records, HR systems, and documentation are maintained accurately and in line with GDPR and company requirements.
What We’re Looking For

The successful candidate will have experience supporting HR activities within a supply chain, transport, warehouse, or other operationally focused environments, with a strong understanding of the challenges and pace of frontline operations.

Essential Skills
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in an HR Officer, HR Advisor, or similar role.
  • Experience supporting HR activities within a supply chain, transport, warehousing, distribution, FMCG, or operational environment.
  • Exposure to employee relations processes, including investigations, disciplinary, grievance, and absence management cases.
  • Experience supporting recruitment activity, preferably within high-volume operational environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish employment legislation and its practical application.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and support stakeholders at all levels.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications and HR information systems.
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to support a multi-shift operation when required.
  • A collaborative team player with a continuous improvement mindset and a passion for delivering excellent HR support.
