Job summary

Murphy Home Furnishing in Ireland is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to cover a 12-month maternity leave contract. You will lead HR across multiple locations, support recruitment, performance management, training, and employee relations, while ensuring compliance with employment legislation.

Collaborate with senior leadership, maintain HR records, and drive engagement and wellbeing initiatives. The role reports to the HR Manager and includes KPI reporting to the CEO/COO.

Qualifications

• Third-level qualification in Human Resources, Business, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a Generalist or Manager HR role.
• Strong knowledge of Irish employment legislation and HR best practices.
• Experience handling employee relations cases and advising managers.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to build trusted relationships.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• High discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day HR support and guidance to managers and employees.
• Manage employee relations matters in line with policies and legislation.
• Coordinate recruitment activities from advertising to onboarding.
• Support performance management, disciplinary procedures, and grievance processes.
• Maintain accurate HR records and GDPR-compliant documentation.
• Oversee leave, probation reviews, and contract changes.
• Identify training needs and support development initiatives.
• Assist with policy implementation and company initiatives.
• Monitor compliance with employment legislation and HR standards.
• Support engagement, wellbeing, and culture programmes.
• Prepare HR reports and metrics for senior management.
• Contribute to continuous HR process improvement.
• Ensure KPIs are maintained or improved.
• Prepare weekly HR reports for CEO/COO meetings.
