Job summary

Magna is seeking an experienced HR Generalist in Ireland to manage HRIS, maintain employee records, and support onboarding and payroll processes. You will ensure data accuracy, maintain HR documentation, and assist with audits in a dynamic automotive technology environment.

The role requires 2–3 years of HR Generalist experience, strong knowledge of HR policies and employment laws, and excellent communication and organisational skills. A hybrid approach may be considered depending on location.

Qualifications

  • BSc/BA in HR Management (or equivalent 3rd Level Qualification), CIPD (or working towards).
  • 2–3 years’ experience as HR Generalist.
  • Understanding of HR policies and employment laws.
  • Proficient in MS Office and HRM systems.

Responsibilities

  • Manage HRIS and maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form.
  • Maintain the HRIS system, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
  • Develop and maintain HRIS documentation, procedures, and user guides.
  • Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
  • Support onboarding by preparing paperwork, creating files, and coordinating with other departments.
  • Attendance management (TMS) and leave administration.
  • Provide payroll support to the payroll team.
  • Process travel expenses with Finance and reconcile invoices.
  • Gather and analyse HR metrics and KPIs (turnover, headcount, absenteeism).
  • Promote HR programs to create an efficient workplace.
  • Participate in audits (HR, IT, Compliance, etc.).
  • Provide administrative support to HR and organize events.
  • Arrange medicals, EAP referrals, or other health-related processes as needed.

Job Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage HRIS and Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form.
  • Maintain the HRIS system, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
  • Develop and maintain HRIS documentation, procedures, and user guides.
  • Maintains employee records and ensures compliance with legal requirements.
  • Support the onboarding process by preparing new employee paperwork, creating employee files, conducting orientation, and coordinating with other departments.
  • Attendance management (TMS).
  • Manage employee attendance in TMS.
  • Leaves, absences, lateness.
  • Provide support to employees in various HR related topics such as leaves, clock in/out etc. and resolve issues and problems.
  • Administer payroll.
  • Work closely with payroll team and provide all necessary information for weekly payroll.
  • Manage wadge adjustment, bonus request etc in Workday.
  • Ensure travel expenses are provided to Finance team.
  • Complete KPMG file weekly basis (sick pay, back pay, leadhand rate etc).
  • Disciplinary and grievance management.
  • Participate and assist on resolving grievances where required.
  • Participate and assist on investigations.
  • Attend litigation cases / WRC cases as required.
  • Gather and analyse data with useful HR metrics and business KPIs, such as turnover, headcount, absenteeism, staffing levels etc.
  • Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict‑free workplace.
  • Including EAP and the EOS, Wages & Benefits surveys.
  • Participate in audits.
  • including Quality and Customer audits, HR, IT, Compliance, Mafact, TISAX, Manpower / Labour & Employment and Payroll / Finance audits.
  • Provide all administrative support to HR department by assisting in all aspects of office management.
  • Provide employees with personal protective equipment.
  • Organise medicals, MRI's, physiotherapy, occupation health referrals, EAP referrals or drug screens as necessary.
  • Support HR team in organising big company corporate events.
  • Make travel arrangements for employees: Prepare itinerary, make flight reservations, book hotels, rental cars / taxis.
  • Make necessary arrangements for business visitors, including airport pick‑up and booking hotels and/or rental cars.
  • Perform other reasonable duties as required.
Knowledge and Qualifications
  • BSc/BA in Human Resource Management (or equivalent 3rd Level Qualification in a related discipline) Associate CIPD (or working towards same).
  • Proven experience as HR Generalist (minimum 2 - 3 years).
  • Understanding of human resources policies and procedures.
  • Good knowledge of employment / labour laws.
  • Outstanding knowledge of MS Office and experience of HRM systems.
