Job summary

Retronix Semiconductor in Ireland seeks an HR Advisor responsible for delivering proactive HR services across Ireland, with expert guidance on employee relations, employment legislation, and HR policies.

This standalone role supports managers, onboarding, contracts, records, GDPR, and HR projects, including recruitment support during peak periods, ensuring compliant practices across Ireland and the UK.

The successful candidate will have CIPD qualification and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • CIPD Level 5/7 with strong generalist HR experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish employment law; UK experience desirable.

Job description

The HR Advisor is responsible for delivering a proactive, professional, and commercially focused HR service across the organisation, with primary accountability for supporting employees and managers in Ireland. This standalone role provides expert guidance on all aspects of employee relations, employment legislation, HR policies, performance management, and people processes. It ensures consistent, compliant, and high‑quality HR practice aligned with both Irish and UK employment law and internal company standards

Main Duties & Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary HR contact for employees and managers across Ireland and Scotland (UK), providing professional advice and guidance on HR policies, procedures and employment legislation.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work autonomously, taking ownership of responsibilities and delivering results with minimal supervision.
  • Ensure HR practices, documentation and processes comply with current Irish & UK (Scottish) employment legislation, GDPR requirements and company standards.
  • Advise, coach and support managers on a wide range of employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, performance management, probation, absence management, employee wellbeing and other workplace concerns, ensuring best practice is adhered to.
  • Manage employee relations cases end to end, ensuring fair, consistent and legally compliant outcomes.
  • Prepare, review and issue employment contracts, offer letters, contractual amendments and HR correspondence.
  • Build and maintain strong administrative foundations across all HR processes, ensuring documentation, workflows, templates and records are accurate, organised and consistently updated.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and personnel files in accordance with GDPR and internal data management standards.
  • Monitor legislative changes and recommend updates to relevant policies and procedures
  • Oversee onboarding processes, ensuring all documentation, compliance checks, inductions and system access are completed efficiently. Highlighting appropriate trends.
  • Support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of HR policies, procedures and employee documentation.
  • Produce regular HR reports and people metrics for senior management, identifying trends and making recommendations.
  • Provide robust administrative and coordination support for HR projects, organisational change initiatives and continuous improvement activity.
  • Support organisational change initiatives and wider HR projects as required.
  • Provide end-to-end recruitment support during periods of increased demand or recruiter absence.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • CIPD qualification at Level 5 or Level 7 (or equivalent) with strong generalist HR experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of Irish employment legislation; UK employment law experience desirable.
  • Proven experience managing employee relations cases in line with legal and procedural requirements.
  • Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • Exceptional administrative capability with the ability to manage high‑volume tasks, maintain accurate records and uphold strong process discipline
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • Strong Microsoft office skills and attention to detail
  • Experience supporting multi-site or international organisations.
  • Knowledge of UK employment law.
  • Experience supporting HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple functions and regions.
