Job summary

Galway Simon Community is seeking a Housing Support Officer for the Men's High Support Service in Galway. The role is a Specific Purpose, Part-Time position averaging 30 hours per week within a 4-week rolling roster that includes sleep-overs.

Salary is pro rata from the HSE Social Care Worker scale, with Sundays and holidays paid at enhanced rates. Key duties include delivering practical and emotional support as part of a client support plan, maintaining compliance and thorough shift handovers,

Qualifications

• CORU registration or a Level 7 degree in a relevant discipline.
• Minimum 2 years relevant experience in a similar care setting.
• Valid, full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Support clients from all backgrounds in a trauma-informed, harm-reduction approach to implement client support plans.
• Stay compliant with organisational policies; complete mandatory training and inspections.
• Lead a shift effectively and log interventions on relevant systems; communicate clearly within the team.
• Adapt to support client and service needs.
