Job summary

Sheraton Athlone Hotel is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to carry out planned and reactive maintenance across the property. You will support the Facilities Manager to maintain a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for guests and colleagues.

The role requires a mechanical or electrical trade qualification and hands-on experience with HVAC, pumps, boilers and building services equipment. On-call work and collaboration with contractors are part of the duties.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance experience in a facilities/engineering role.
• Qualified in mechanical or electrical trade is essential.
• Knowledge of HVAC, pumps, boilers, motors and building services equipment is required.
• Strong fault-finding and preventative maintenance abilities.
• Able to read technical manuals and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive and emergency repairs hotel-wide.
• Inspect equipment, read meters, and identify issues before failures.
• Diagnose faults and carry out mechanical/electrical repairs.
• Maintain pumps, motors, boilers, HVAC, lighting and plumbing systems.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and coordinate with contractors.
• Support energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives across the property.
• Keep accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Liaise with contractors and ensure stock levels of parts and tools.
• Work in compliance with health and safety requirements and participate in on-call rotation.
