Job summary

The Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel is seeking a dedicated Financial Controller to oversee the hotel’s finance function, drive monthly management accounts, KPI reporting, cashflow forecasting, and provide strategic financial insight to the General Manager and senior team.

ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA qualified with a minimum of five years post-qualification experience is essential; excellent Excel skills; experience with Sage, Hotsoft, Procure Wizard and Timepoint; hospitality experience is a plus, plus strong

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA qualified with minimum 5 years post qualification experience.
• Good excel skills, computer literate with multiple systems experience – Sage, Hotsoft, Procure Wizard and Timepoint.
• Previous experience in hospitality is an advantage.
• Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills.
• Able to coach team members.
• Well-presented and approachable with impeccable attention to detail essential for this role.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and control all aspects of the Finance function of the Hotel.
• Work closely with the General Manager and the Senior team ensuring all KPI’s are aware of expected KPI’s including wages, GP’s and departmental margins.
• Prepare Monthly Management Accounts to strict deadlines including Profit & Loss, KPI’s, Balance Sheet reconciliation, and Cashflow forecast.
• Lead review and update forecasts for both revenue and costs. Identify risks and opportunities that may affect the financial performance of the hotel.
• Prepare costings of all Capital projects for approval by Head Office.
• Monitor all Group internal controls to ensure they are maintained and robust.
• Maximise profitability of the Hotel through commercial awareness, strict controls and input into key strategic decisions.
• Manage Cashflows ensuring bank payments fall within schedule.
• Income Audit management ensuring accuracy and no leakage of cash.
• Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis for Management and Head office.
• Preparation of annual Budgets.
• Responsible for annual Audit and maintenance of files for Group internal review.
