Job summary

The Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel is seeking a Financial Controller to oversee all aspects of the Finance function, reporting to the General Manager and the senior team.

You will manage monthly management accounts, forecasts, cashflow, and audits, while driving profitability and maintaining robust internal controls. Hospitality experience is valued.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA qualified with minimum 5 years post-qualification experience.
• Excellent Excel skills and computer literacy with multiple systems experience.
• Hospitality experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and control all aspects of the Finance function of the Hotel.
• Collaborate with the General Manager and senior team to monitor KPI's including wages, GP's and departmental margins.
• Prepare Monthly Management Accounts including P&L, KPI's, balance sheet reconciliation and cashflow forecast.
• Lead review and update forecasts for revenue and costs, identify risks and opportunities affecting performance.
• Prepare costings of capital projects for Head Office approval.
• Monitor internal controls to ensure robustness and compliance.
• Maximise profitability through commercial awareness and strict controls.
• Manage cashflows and ensure payments align with schedule.
• Oversee income audit and prevent cash leakage.
• Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis for Management and Head Office.
• Prepare annual budgets and support year-end audits.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Oversee and control all aspects of the Finance function of the Hotel.
• Work closely with the General Manager and the Senior team ensuring all HOD’s are aware of expected KPI’s including wages, GP’S and departmental margins.
• Prepare Monthly Management Accounts to strict deadlines which include Profit & Loss, KPI’S, Balance Sheet reconciliation, and Cashflow forecast.
• Lead review and update forecasts for both revenue and costs. Identify risks and opportunities that may affect the financial performance of the hotel.
• Prepare costings of all Capital projects for approval by Head Office.
• Monitor all Group internal controls to ensure they are being maintained and robust.
• Maximise profitability of the Hotel through commercial awareness, strict controls and input into key strategic decisions.
• Manage Cashflows ensuring bank payments fall within schedule.
• Income Audit management ensuring accuracy and no leakage of cash.
• Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis for Management and Head office.
• Preparation of annual Budgets
• Responsible for annual Audit and maintenance of files for Group internal review.

About this role

Candidate Requirements:

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA qualified with minimum 5 years post qualification experience.
• Good excel skills, computer literate with multiple systems experience – Sage, Hotsoff, Procure Wizard and Timepoint
• Previous experience in hospitality is an advantage
• Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills
• Able to coach team members
• Well-presented and approachable with impeccable attention to detail essential for this rol
