Job summary

Beaumont Hospital seeks a Household Operative in the TUN Directorate to support ward-level infection control and maintain the environment to national hygiene standards. Responsibilities include cleaning, equipment decontamination, linen and waste handling, and adherence to hospital policies.

The role requires 39 hours per week, permanent status, and alignment with the Domestic Scale pay policy. Closing date is 28 October 2026.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have a Junior Certificate or equivalent.
• A minimum of 3 years' experience in a relevant industry with experience managing large numbers of staff.

Responsibilities

• Wash and clean kitchen cupboards and keep presses tidy per pantry cleaning schedules.
• Management of Patient Equipment and the Dialysis Stations, including decontamination after use and reporting faults.
• Safe handling and disposal of linen, including correct segregation and disposal per policy.
• Safe handling and disposal of waste/dirty utility, hand hygiene facilities and ward cleaning responsibilities.
