Job summary

UPMC Aut Even Hospital Kilkenny is seeking a Housekeeping Operative to provide a high-quality service in line with infection control standards. The role covers cleaning patient rooms, bathrooms, offices and common areas, with mandatory PPE and adherence to cleaning schedules.

The position is permanent, based at Aut Even Hospital in Kilkenny, and requires collaboration with the Housekeeping Supervisor and Ward Managers to ensure consistently high standards of cleanliness across the facility.

Qualifications

• Minimum of Leaving Certificate Level or equivalent.
• Experience: Clean equipment and associated areas of work in accordance with cleaning schedules using recommended detergents.

Responsibilities

• Clean patient rooms and bathrooms using hospital approved cleaning detergents.
• Hoover and wash all floors including corners and edges.
• Clean offices, nurses' stations, linen rooms, staff changing areas, public and staff bathrooms, lifts, receptions, corridors and stairs.
• Ensure cleaning equipment is cleaned and stored after use.
• Work with Housekeeping Supervisor and Ward Managers to maintain high cleanliness standards.
• Follow colour coded cleaning cloths system and segregation of mop heads.
