Housekeepers (Killarney)
We are currently recruiting Housekeepers on a temporary basis to work within the public sector. We are seeking motivated and reliable Housekeepers to join our teams in healthcare facilities in Killarney. This role supports the delivery of high-quality healthcare services by ensuring that facilities are cleaned to the highest hygiene standards. Housekeepers play a vital role in maintaining infection prevention standards within hospitals, community healthcare facilities, and residential care settings

Requirements:
- CleanPass: A valid cleanpass is required for all of these cleaning positions
- Manual Handling Training
- Availability for Garda Vetting/International Police Clearance
- Vaccination/Medical: You are required to pass a medical examination to confirm physical fitness for the job.
- QQI Level 5 Professional Cleaning Skills
- Mandatory HSELand Training
- Practical Cleaning & Infection Control:Training that includes practical demonstrations on cleaning bedrooms, bathrooms, and public rooms, as well as waste management.
- Safety, Health and Welfare in Healthcare:Covers hazard identification, safety statements, and control measures in a clinical environment.
- Have fluent command & understanding of English Language to include spoken & written to compile HIQA Documents.
- Have attained such standard of education as would enable him/her to discharge the duties of the post satisfactorily
- Have relevant recent employment (within the last five years) working in a cleaning environment in the Health Care Sector
- 3 references dated within the past 5 years
Responsibilities:
- Follow all relevant HSE and hospital policies and procedures, particularly those relating to health and safety, infection control, waste disposal, sharps, infected linen, and the reporting of accidents and incidents.
- Keep wards, bathrooms, toilets, sluices, corridors, dining areas, laundry areas and other assigned spaces clean and tidy at all times.
- Clean floors, walls, equipment and other areas by sweeping, dusting, washing and carrying out other cleaning tasks as needed.
- Remove rubbish and waste safely and regularly from the areas where they are working, following the correct procedures.
- Assist with cleaning and other duties in different departments when required and help to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties that may be given by the Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM), Assistant Director of Nursing or Director of Nursing from time to time.
- Take responsibility for maintaining good standards of cleanliness, hygiene and safety in all areas where they are assigned to work.
