Job summary

UPMC Aut Even Hospital Kilkenny is hiring a Housekeeping Operative to provide a high quality cleaning service in line with infection control standards.

Responsibilities include cleaning patient rooms and bathrooms, maintaining all areas of the hospital, using approved detergents, and adhering to PPE and colour-coded cleaning procedures. The role requires teamwork and the ability to work on own initiative.

Qualifications

• Leaving Certificate Level or equivalent.
• Experience in hospital cleaning and infection control procedures.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Clean patient rooms, bathrooms and furniture using approved detergents.
• Wear PPE and follow infection control policies.
• Operate and store cleaning equipment properly.
• Work with supervisors and ward staff to maintain high cleanliness.
