Job summary

UPMC Ireland is hiring a Housekeeping Assistant for UPMC Kildare Hospital on a 6-month fixed-term contract (30 hours per week). You will ensure safe, compliant cleaning of hospital areas, waste handling and linen management in line with infection prevention standards.

Qualifications

Previous housekeeping experience in healthcare desirable.
Good interpersonal skills are essential for patient and staff interactions.
Customer service is a key element of the role.
High level of attention to detail, efficiency and accuracy in all duties.

Responsibilities

Remove waste from the area to be cleaned to the designated collection area and reline waste bin.
Remove linen and scrubs from the area to the designated collection area.
Wash walls/ledges/doors/windows, sanitary ware, furniture and equipment as per specification.
Dust, vacuum and/or mop floors and stairs as per specification.
Restock disposables and consumables as required.
Ensure all checklists are signed off and returned to the supervisor.
Keep clinical bin stores clean and well-maintained.
Greet and engage with patients.
