Job summary

National Vehicle Distribution (NVD) is seeking a proactive Parts Supervisor to lead the parts team and coordinate the end-to-end parts supply chain for a busy workshop environment.

You will identify parts using IT systems, manage stock levels, and liaise with the workshop staff to ensure timely deliveries and efficient operations. Strong leadership and accuracy are essential, along with a full clean driving licence (Class B).

Qualifications

• Strong administration skills.
• Commercial vehicle experience and preferably car transporter familiarity.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail essential.
• Ability to multi-task and work well under strict deadlines is essential.
• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
• Management experience as part of a wider Parts team.
• Full clean driving license – Class B.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage the parts team, including performance reviews, scheduling, and training to ensure high departmental standards.
• Provide an efficient service to the workshop technical staff by accurately identifying commercial vehicle parts using parts IT systems, and oversee the entire parts supply chain to meet workshop demands.
• Strategically order, organise, and maintain optimal parts stock levels; establish and enforce inventory policies.
• Manage the parts department budget, track expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Oversee department housekeeping duties and ensure a safe, clean working environment.
• Coordinate handling of walk-in driver queries for ancillary items/PPE and ensure exceptional service.
• Prepare ad-hoc reports on inventory, performance, and projects; drive continuous improvement for parts processes.

• Inventory & Stock Management: Strategically order, organise, and maintain optimal parts stock levels. Establish and enforce policies for inventory accuracy, including conducting and overseeing daily stock control checks.

• Budget & Financial Oversight: Manage the parts department budget, track expenses, and identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue generation through parts sales.

• Facility Management: Oversee and maintain department housekeeping duties, ensuring a safe, clean, and organised working environment compliant with NVD policies.

• Workshop & Driver Relations: Oversee and coordinate the handling of walk-in driver queries at the workshop for ancillary items/PPE, ensuring exceptional service.

• Process Improvement & Reporting: Prepare ad-hoc reports on inventory, performance, and projects as needed. Proactively identify and implement areas for continuous improvement for parts processes based on data, experience, and driver feedback.

• Coordination & Compliance: Coordinate and consolidate NVD related material. Ensure all parts operations are working in accordance with the policies and procedures of NVD and relevant regulatory standards.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the primary liaison between the parts team and the separate warehouse & logistics team to ensure seamless operations and material flow.
