FLI Precast Solutions is hiring a Heavy Plant Operator to support movement and final loading of products at our Ballon, Co. Carlow site within the Post-Production team.

The role involves operating a range of heavy plant machinery and acting as banksman for cranes, with on-the-job training provided. The ideal candidate will have experience with heavy plant and lifting, a strong safety mindset and the ability to work both independently and in a team.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in operating heavy plant vehicles and lifting equipment is an advantage.
• Prior experience moving heavy loads is an advantage.
• Experience in precast industry is advantageous but not essential.

Responsabilités

• Operation of heavy plant machinery including Combilift Skip, Shunter, forklifts, and Straddle Carrier.
• Act as banksman for gantry crane operation including goliath crane.
• Relief operator for goliath crane.
• Assist in strapping down loads and loading for dispatch.
• Provide on-the-job training to trainees.
• Work with senior team members and uphold health, safety and quality standards.
• Keep work area clean and hazard-free.
• Role model for health and safety practices within the team.
• Perform other reasonable tasks as assigned.

We have an exciting vacancy for a Heavy Plant Operator to join our busy and expanding Post-Production team here at FLI Precast Solutions, a leading precast manufacturer. The Heavy Plant Operator will assist and support in the movement of products around site and final loading of products for dispatch.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operation of a range of heavy plant machinery including, but not limited to, Combilift Skip, Shunter, various size Forklifts, Straddle Carrier, etc.
• Act as banksman for gantry crane operation including goliath crane.
• Act as relief operator for goliath crane.
• Assist in strapping down of loads.
• Provide on-the-job training to trainees in the department.
• Actively learn from senior members of team.
• Performance of all tasks per health, safety and quality standards.
• Ensuring work area is kept clean and clutter/hazard free.
• Act as a role model for health and safety practices within team.
• Completion of other reasonable tasks which may be assigned.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Prior experience in operating heavy plant vehicles and lifting equipment an advantage.
• Prior experience in movement of heavy loads an advantage.
• Prior experience working in precast industry an advantage but not essential.
• Knowledge of precast lifting and movement processes an advantage.
• Enthusiastic and motivated with a willingness to learn.
• Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
• Flexibility of duties and working hours.
• Awareness and respect for health and safety rules and procedures.
• Keen attention to detail.
• Proven record of good timekeeping and attendance.

Additional Information:

• Must be willing and available to work day shift hours Monday to Friday with occasional weekend overtime.
• Training will be provided.
