Job summary

Greenfield Global Ireland is seeking a Production Operator to join our Operations team in Portlaoise, Co. Laois.

This role focuses on the safe, efficient operation of plant equipment and processes, including dispensing, blending, setup, filling, and loading/unloading. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of operator experience on complex processes, GMP site experience desirable, data recording and SOP writing skills, and knowledge of health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of operator experience on complex processes.

Responsibilities

• Operate and support safe, efficient plant equipment and processes.
• Dispense, thin/blend, set up equipment and handle filling/packaging tasks; assist loading/unloading finished goods.
• Operate on-site mobile equipment such as forklifts when required.
• Perform plant checks, respond to alarms, fault finding and first-line maintenance.
• May involve shift work to support business volumes.
• Follow written and verbal instructions in a busy factory environment.
• Adhere to Health & Safety and Environmental regulations; maintain good document practices.

Location: Portaloise, Co. Laois

Greenfield Global Ireland is looking for an Production Operator to join our growing team.

Your Experience Should Include

• At least 5 years' experience as an operator on complex processes is essential
• Previous experience working within a GMP environment site is desirable
• Recording and analyzing process data to inform decision making and recommendations
• Experience writing/modifying SOPs is desirable – participate effectively in writing/revising/rolling out accurate operational procedures, training materials
• Experience in process development and/or commissioning new plant where outcomes are less certain and there is a need for flexibility
• Handling hazardous chemicals
• Experience operating with Safe Systems of work including permits
• Competent with hand tools and basic maintenance is desirable
• Experience in continuous improvement – by actively using Lean Six Sigma methodology, Kaizen events, performing root cause analysis, using standard tools and methods to resolve issues e.g. FMEA, Fishbone diagrams, 5 why’s etc.

Job Responsibilities

• Support the business for the safe, efficient and effective operation of plant equipment and processes
• Perform a variety of activities, including dispensing, thinning/blending, set up of equipment for various plant tasks, filling/packaging of products, assisting with the loading/unloading of finished goods, warehouse receiving/dispatch (work with the weighbridge system liaising with driver)
• Operate mobile plant on site as required such as forklifts
• Conduct plant checks & inspections, along with responding to any alarms, carrying out fault finding & first line maintenance (on pumps, gearboxes, conveyors etc.)
• Role may involve shift work to support business volumes
• Previous experience in a similar chemical batch manufacturing environment would be advantageous. Ability to follow written and verbal instruction from others in a busy factory environment
• Knowledge/awareness of Health & Safety and Environmental regulations is preferable
• Good document practices in adherence to regulatory requirements while performing all tasks
