Job summary

UPMC Ireland invites applications for a Facilities Operative at the UPMC Sports Surgery Clinic in Dublin. This is a full-time contract of employment with duties across building maintenance, cabinet installation, plumbing, landscaping and daily site operations.

The role requires practical handyman skills, at least two years in a similar role and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Hospital experience is preferred and training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Proficient knowledge of trade and handyman skills.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Hospial experience is preferred.
• Ability to perform general maintenance on buildings and equipment.
• Ability to use basic hand and power tools where necessary.
• Knowledge of safety systems and procedures.
• Good standard of English (oral and written).
• Ability to work on own initiative and with others.

Responsibilities

• Assist or carry out general duties as requested by management.
• Build, install and paint cabinets, shelves, etc.
• Install/repair key locks and hardware.
• Repairs to furniture.
• Window cleaning and landscape maintenance.
• Assist in plumbing issues and blockages.
• Perform maintenance on buildings and equipment.
• Collect and deliver clinical waste and laundry.
• Deliver bottled medical gases to departments.
• Maintain carpark and payment stations.
• Adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
• Provide on-call support (one week every six weeks).
• Attend training provided by the clinic.
