Job summary

UPMC Ireland is seeking a Clerical Officer for Admissions at the UPMC Sports Surgery Clinic in Dublin. The role supports the smooth running of the Admissions Department from first contact to handover to clinical colleagues.

You will welcome patients, verify records, manage paperwork and insurance details, and assist across reception, admissions and operations to ensure high-quality patient care and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Accurate data entry and keyboard skills.
• Previous experience in an acute/clinical setting desirable.
• Self-directed and able to work independently.
• Diplomatic and tactful with ability to build relationships.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes patients and families professionally and delivers excellent administration throughout the Admissions process.
• Verifies patient identity and records match, ensuring proper documentation.
• Prepares charts and manages paperwork, including insurance details and payments.
• Rotates across reception, admissions, and operations, scheduling and pre-admission tasks.
• Performs switchboard duties and handles calls professionally.
• Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
