Job summary

Irish HomeCare is seeking qualified Healthcare Assistants to join our team in Kerry. You will provide home care services to clients in their own homes, following individual Care Plans and ensuring comfort and safety during shifts.

A Level 5 Health or Social Care qualification (or equivalent) and a valid driving licence are essential. The role is full-time, 39 hours per week, with shifts including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and some weekends.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience in care or healthcare.
• Essential Level 5 QQI Health or Social Care or equivalent.
• Fluent English with good verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal, non-medical care and assistance to clients in their own homes.
• Assist with clients’ physical, nutritional and social needs as outlined in their Care Plan.
• Provide personal care tasks including washing, dressing, continence care, mobility assistance and meal preparation.

About the Role: Irish HomeCare is seeking qualified and experienced Healthcare Assistants to join our growing team in Kerry. Successful candidates will be responsible for providing home care services to our clients in the local community.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide personal, non‑medical care and assistance to clients in their own homes
• Assist with clients’ physical, nutritional and social needs as laid out in their Care Plan
• Provide personal care (e.g., washing, dressing, assisting with continence care), mobilise, assist with feeding, meal preparation, light housekeeping, etc.

Requirements

• A major award in Health or Social Care or equivalent (Qualified to Level 5 on the QQI Framework)
• Previous care or healthcare experience
• A general understanding of geriatric health and mobility issues
• Strong verbal communication skills and good command of spoken and written English
• A full Irish (or Irish recognised) Driving Licence and access to a vehicle is essential

Hours of Work

39 hours per week. Must be available to work various shifts, including mornings, afternoons and evenings (including weekends and bank holidays).

Salary

€32,691 per annum
