Job summary

St Brendan's High Support Unit in Ireland is seeking a dedicated Healthcare Assistant to provide person-centered care and daily living support to residents. You will work within a clinical care team, ensuring dignity, safety and comfort while following infection control standards.

The role requires effective communication, flexibility for shifts including weekends and nights, and commitment to high-quality care for vulnerable adults in our facility.

Qualifications

• Must hold QQI Level 5 qualification in Health Service Skills, Healthcare Support, or an equivalent international qualification.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-collaboration skills.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and nights, as dictated by rotation schedules.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents/patients with daily living activities, including mobility, personal hygiene, dressing, and dietary requirements.
• Monitor, record, and report changes in patient conditions, vital signs, or behavioral patterns to the supervising nursing staff.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable therapeutic environment in compliance with infection control and healthcare safety standards.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, promoting independence and respecting individual dignity.
• Assist multi-disciplinary healthcare teams with clinical administrative duties, equipment preparation, and patient transport.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our clinical care team. The successful candidate will provide direct, high-quality person-centered care and essential daily living support to residents/patients within our facility.
