Job summary

RecruitNet International Ltd is hiring Healthcare Assistants for leading nursing homes across Waterford, Ireland. This full-time role welcomes EU citizens or those with Stamp 4/Stamp 1G, with sponsorship not available.

You will support nursing staff in delivering person-centred care, build relationships with residents, assist with mobility and personal care, and participate in activities to enhance quality of life. Garda Vetting and references are required.

Qualifications

• FETAC/QQI Level 5 qualification in Healthcare Support or equivalent with relevant healthcare modules completed.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with residents, families, and colleagues.
• Strong listening skills and a compassionate approach to resident care.
• Reliable, professional, and committed to high standards of care and conduct.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Support nursing staff in delivering high-quality, person-centred care.
• Build positive relationships with residents by understanding their interests and care requirements.
• Assist residents with mobility and independence while ensuring safety.
• Support residents with personal care and hygiene while maintaining dignity and privacy.
• Monitor residents' wellbeing and report changes to the nursing team.
• Assist with eating, drinking, and maintaining physical comfort.
• Organise and participate in social, recreational, and therapeutic activities.
• Foster good communication between residents, families, and the care team.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and infection prevention.
