Job summary

Lotus Care Services in Clonaslee, Co. Laois, Ireland is looking for a Health Care Assistant to join our permanent full-time team.

The role involves supporting children and adults with intellectual disabilities in community settings and delivering person-centred care. You will work on average 42 hours per week with day and waking-night shifts, receive induction and in-house training, and have opportunities for progression.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 5 qualification in Applied Social Studies, Social Care or a relevant discipline.
• Registered with CORU - SCW.
• Full, clean Irish driving licence.
• Excellent verbal and written English.
• Prior experience in social care or healthcare desirable.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and encourage decision-making, independence and personal development.
• Support daily living skills, including personal hygiene, health and appearance.
• Work in a person-centred manner to meet individual care plans and goals.
• Administer and document the dispensation of prescribed medication.
• Undertake Key Worker responsibilities, helping service users achieve their goals.
• Maintain accurate documentation and reports.
• Work closely with the MDT to support service users' goals.
• Document and report incidents and complaints involving staff, service users or visitors.
• Adhere to policies, procedures, standards, regulations and codes of practice.
