Job summary

Job Description

At HomeCarer Trusted Independent Living we currently have multiple vacancies for the role of Healthcare Assistant.

Healthcare Assistants support people of all ages, including people with disabilities and people receiving palliative care, to live well in their own homes.

Your duties may include:

• Helping clients get up and dressed for the day
• Helping clients with their personal care needs
• Making beds
• Assisting clients with toileting
• Monitoring and reporting changes in their wellbeing
• Preparing meals
• Serving meals and assisting clients to eat
• Assisting clients with mobility
• Helping clients with prescribed exercises
• Providing medication prompts
• Completing detailed care records

You must be kind, reliable and a good communicator.

You will need previous paid experience working as a Healthcare Assistant. You will also need a QQI Level 5 qualification in Healthcare or an acceptable equivalent, or be working towards one, or be willing to work towards it in your own time. A background or qualification in medicine, nursing, pharmacy, physiotherapy, applied therapies or allied healthcare would be a distinct advantage.

Healthcare Assistants can be scheduled to work at any time between 8am and 10pm, so flexibility is required. You will receive your schedule a week in advance, for 39 hours per week. Shifts are a minimum of 4 hours and usually longer. This is a full-time position at €32,691 per annum for a 39-hour week.
