Job summary

Beech Lodge Care Facility in Bruree, Co. Limerick, is seeking a Health Care Assistant to join our team. You will deliver person-centred care to residents as part of a supportive nursing team.

Required QQI Level 5 in Healthcare (or equivalent) and strong English communication. Full-time, 39 hours/week, 12-hour shifts across day, night, and weekend. On-site parking available.

Qualifications

• FETAC/QQI Level 5 qualification in Healthcare (or equivalent).
• Experience working in a healthcare setting is preferable.
• Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken).
• Ability to maintain a positive approach in challenging environments.

Responsibilities

• Supporting nursing staff and team in delivering quality person-centered care to residents.
• Getting to know residents’ interests and needs; provide attention, support and companionship.
• Promoting residents' mobility and assisting to maintain/improve mobility.
• Maintaining residents' personal appearance and hygiene with dignity.
• Assisting residents with eating/drinking and physical comfort.
• Participating in, organizing, and carrying out social activities.
• Maintaining communication with residents’ families and staff; building strong relationships.
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and health and safety.

We are looking for Health Care Assistants to join our team. Our Health Care Assistant works as a member of a team delivering care to the residents of our facility.

What will you need to do:

• Supporting the nursing staff and team in delivering quality person-centered care to meet the needs of residents
• Getting to know residents’ interests and needs providing attention, support and companionship
• Promoting the mobility of residents, supervising and assisting as necessary to ensure optimum mobility is maintained and improved where possible
• Enabling and assisting residents to maintain their personal appearance /hygiene needs whilst always maintaining their dignity.
• Enabling and assisting residents to eat/drink and achieve physical comfort
• Participating, organizing and carrying out social activities
• Sustaining high level of communication between resident’s family and staff developing good relationships
• Assisting in the upkeep of high standards of cleanliness in the home
• Contributing to the maintenance of Health and Safety in the home
• Care for each resident like they are your own family
• andAny other duties deemed necessary by Nurse in Charge and management

What are the qualifications/skills needed?

• FETAC/QQI Level 5 qualification in Healthcare (or equivalent) in all relevant modules
• Experience working in a healthcare preferable
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to maintain a positive approach in a sometimes-challenging environment
• andGood command of the English language - both written and oral.
