Job summary

Beechfield Care Group Limited is recruiting Healthcare Assistants (Senior Position) to guide and mentor fellow HCAs across Mount Hybla Nursing Home and related locations. The role reports to nurse managers and aims to uphold the highest standards of resident care. Salary is €32,691 per annum with 10% Saturday and 20% Sunday premiums, plus overtime.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years care experience.
• QQI Level 5 Award in Healthcare.
• Relevant Healthcare Degree or Qualification.
• Mentoring, Training, Supervisory experience in healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train and mentor new Healthcare Assistants; work with nurse managers and staff nurses to maintain high standards of care.
• Undertake hygiene and dress care functions for residents; safe manual handling and transfers.
• Delivery of food to and feeding of residents; bed making and linen changes; incontinence care including catheter bags.
• Provide psychological and social support to residents; ensure dignity, comfort, safety and cleanliness.
• Adhere to hygiene, health and safety regulations; perform other duties as required.

Role Responsibilities:Lead, train and mentor new Healthcare Assistants;Work closely with nurse managers and staff nurses to maintain the highest standards of care;Undertake hygiene and dress care functions for residents; Safe manual handling and transfer of residents within nursing home;Delivery of food to and feeding of residents;Return of used trays and dishes top kitchen, leaving residents and their rooms neat and tidy;Bed making and linen changes;Provide incontinence and toilet care to residents, including emptying commodes and replacing catheter bags;Assisting trained nurses with provision of psychological and social support as needed;Continuous vigilance towards dignity, comfort, safety and whereabouts of residents;Continuous adherence to hygiene, health and safety regulations;Any other duties as required.

Role Requirements:Relevant Healthcare Degree or Qualification: Nursing, Allied Health, Medical. orMentoring, Training, Supervisory experience in healthcare setting; QQI Level 5 Award in Healthcare; Minimum 2 Years Care Experience; Track record as high performing healthcare assistant; Excellent communication and personal care skills; Knowledge of Healthcare Standards; HIQA, Infection Prevention etc.
