Job summary

Vickerstock is partnering with an established civil engineering contractor to appoint a Health & Safety Advisor across the Leinster region. You will work with Contracts Managers and site teams to ensure live project safety, compliance, and a strong safety culture.

The role focuses on advising on H&S plans, RAMS, risk assessments, and safe systems of work, with travel to project sites as required. A Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety and 2–4 years' experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent qualification.
• 2-4 years' experience in a Health & Safety role in civil engineering or construction.
• Strong knowledge of Irish Health & Safety legislation and construction safety requirements.
• Experience conducting site inspections, audits and risk assessments.
• Practical understanding of RAMS and safe systems of work.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical Health & Safety advice to Contracts Managers, site teams and subcontractors.
• Support development and implementation of project H&S Plans, Risk Assessments, Method Statements and safe systems of work.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits and safety meetings; identify hazards and improvements.
• Monitor compliance with Irish Health & Safety legislation and project requirements.
• Investigate accidents and incidents; identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Promote a proactive safety culture through engagement with site personnel.
