Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is seeking a Health & Safety Advisor for our client, a leading civil engineering company with head office in Co. Meath, to support projects across the Leinster region.

You will work across multiple sites delivering practical H&S advice, carrying out inspections, audits, risk assessments and training, on a flexible, site-based role. 2-4 years' experience, full driving licence, and entitlement to work in Ireland are essential.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years' relevant Health & Safety experience.
• Experience in civil engineering or main contractor environment.
• Ability to operate independently on site.
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and best practice.

Responsibilities

Leinster Region | €65,000 + Benefits

Our client is a leading civil engineering company, delivering high-quality projects across Ireland. With their Head Office based in Co. Meath, they are now seeking to appoint an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join the business in a newly created role supporting projects throughout the Leinster region.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety professional who is comfortable working independently and enjoys a varied, site-based role. Due to the nature of the position, flexibility around location and travel across Leinster is essential.

The Role

As Health & Safety Advisor, you will work across multiple sites, supporting project teams in maintaining and improving high standards of health, safety and compliance.

You will be responsible for:

• Providing practical Health & Safety advice and support to site and project teams.
• Carrying out site inspections, audits and risk assessments.
• Monitoring compliance with relevant Health & Safety legislation and company policies.
• Identifying potential risks and working proactively with site teams to implement effective controls.
• Investigating incidents and near misses and assisting with corrective actions.
• Delivering Health & Safety briefings, toolbox talks and training where required.
• Maintaining accurate Health & Safety documentation and reporting.
• Building strong working relationships with site management, employees and subcontractors.
• Operating independently across a number of projects while contributing to the wider Health & Safety function.

The Person

We are looking for someone with 2-4 years' relevant Health & Safety experience, ideally gained within a civil engineering or main contractor environment.

You will have:

• 2-4 years' experience in a Health & Safety role.
• Previous experience working within civil engineering or for a main contractor.
• The confidence and experience to operate independently on site.
• A practical, proactive and solutions-focused approach to Health & Safety.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with teams at all levels.
• A good understanding of Health & Safety legislation and best practice within the construction industry.
• Flexibility to travel between sites across the Leinster region.
• A full Irish driving licence.
• A valid work permit and legal entitlement to work in Ireland.
