Job summary

Beechfield Care Group is recruiting a Health Care Assistant to support residents at Woodlands House Nursing Home in Navan. The role involves personal care, feeding assistance and helping with daily living tasks within a dedicated multidisciplinary team.

The successful candidate will contribute to residents' dignity, comfort and wellbeing, while adhering to hygiene and safety standards. QQI Level 5 Healthcare Support is preferred and training is provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in elder care is desirable.
• QQI Level 5 - Healthcare Support is preferred.
• Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to support residents with dignity and respect.

Responsibilities

• Undertake personal care functions for residents including hygiene and dressing.
• Safe manual handling and transfer of residents.
• Assist with feeding and mealtimes.
• Maintain clean and tidy resident rooms and kitchens, including bed making and linen changes.
• Provide continence and toilet care as required.
• Support nurses with psychological and social care.

Beechfield Care Group are currently looking to recruit a Health Care Assistant to assume responsibility for the care of residents at Woodlands House Nursing Home, Dillons Land, Trim Road, Navan C15 V585.

About Woodlands

Woodlands house was built in 1917 in the Georgian style and was used to serve the needs of the local Church of Ireland Clergy as a Rectory for the Canon. The building has run as a Nursing Home since the early 1980's. At Woodlands house we believe in the privacy of our residents while catering for their specific needs, this underpins our core philosophy of caring for each resident as unique individuals.

About the Role

The Health Care Assistant is a key member of the multi-disciplinary team responsible for the care of our resistant's. The HCA helps, support and direct personal care required to maximise the independence and wellbeing of our resistant's including looking after their physical, emotional, and cultural needs.

Role Responsibilities

• Undertake hygiene and dress care functions for residents.
• Safe manual handling and transfer of residents within nursing home
• Delivery of food to and feeding of residents
• Return of used trays and dishes top kitchen, leaving residents and their rooms neat and tidy
• Bed making and linen changes.
• Provide incontinence and toilet care to residents, including emptying commodes and replacing catheter bags.
• Assisting trained nurses with provision of psychological and social support as needed
• Continuous vigilance towards dignity, comfort, safety, and whereabouts of residents
• Continuous adherence to hygiene, health, and safety regulations
