Job summary

Beechfield Care Group is seeking a Health Care Assistant for Woodlands House Nursing Home in Navan. You will support residents with personal care, meals and daily activities within a respectful, patient-centered team environment.

The role focuses on maintaining dignity, safety and comfort while assisting nurses with care tasks and routine duties. QQI Level 5 Healthcare Support is desirable, and flexible hours are available.

Qualifications

• Experience in elder care and support for residents.
• Ability to assist nurses with personal care and routine tasks.
• Commitment to residents’ dignity, safety and well-being.

Responsibilities

• Undertake hygiene and dress care functions for residents.
• Safe manual handling and transfer of residents within nursing home.
• Delivery of food to and feeding of residents.
• Bed making and linen changes.
• Provide incontinence and toilet care to residents, including emptying commodes and replacing catheter bags.
• Assist trained nurses with provision of psychological and social support.
• Maintain dignity, comfort, safety and whereabouts of residents.
• Adhere to hygiene, health and safety regulations.
• Any Other Duties As Required.

Beechfield Care Group are currently looking to recruit a health care assistant to assume responsibility for the care of residents at Woodlands House Nursing Home, Dillons Land, Trim Road, Navan C15 V585

About Woodlands

Woodland's house was built in 1917 in the Georgian style and was used to serve the needs of the local Church of Ireland Clergy as a Rectory for the Canon. The building has run as a Nursing Home since the early 1980's. At Woodlands house we believe in the privacy of our residents while catering for their specific needs, this underpins our core philosophy of caring for each resident as unique individuals.

About the Role:

The Health Care Assistant is a key member of the multi-disciplinary team responsible for the care of our resistant's. The HCA helps, support and direct personal care required to maximise the independence and wellbeing of our resistant's including looking after their physical, emotional, and cultural needs.

Role Responsibilities:

• O Undertake hygiene and dress care functions for residents.
• O Safe manual handling and transfer of residents within nursing home
• O Delivery of food to and feeding of residents
• O Return of used trays and dishes top kitchen, leaving residents and their rooms neat and tidy
• O Bed making and linen changes.
• O Provide incontinence and toilet care to residents, including emptying commodes and replacing catheter bags.
• O Assisting trained nurses with provision of psychological and social support as needed
• O Continuous vigilance towards dignity, comfort, safety, and whereabouts of residents
• O Continuous adherence to hygiene, health, and safety regulations
• O Any Other Duties As Required.
